8/4/2023 0 Comments Bad gag reflexOne of the nurses might hold your head and that's for your safety only. All u have to think about is that u want to know it too what's going on in ur stomach. U can feel the pipe going down a little bit but it's not painful at all, just weird. I didn't heave at all throughout the whole procedure, the spray they spray in your throat numbs ur senses in the throat, so u won't have the gag reflex at all. But my consultant was amazing, he talked to me and made me feel really relaxed. I was quite nervous too to start off with. Yeah of course u'll be nervous but that's normal. Please don't worry about it, it's really not a big deal. The staff were incredibly supportive and understanding of all my concerns, and did all they could to make things easier for me. I am the most nervous and fearful person when faced with something like this, but it was so much better than I could possibly have imagined. I know it is easy to say, but try not to worry. They will have lots of experience of helping people who are very anxious. May be you could ask if they could give you a small amount of sedative before you put the mouth guard in, just so you are calmer - I was worried about wearing it too, but it wasn't bad at all. You can tell them all your concerns about being sick, gagging, wearing the mouth guard and I am sure they will do all they can to help you. I would thorougly recommend calling the endoscopy department and asking to speak to a nurse or doctor - I did this before mine. When I woke up it was as if I had had a general - I couldn't remember anything about it. My main fear was gagging and feeling as if I couldn't breathe, but neither of these were a problem. However, I finally had one recently with sedation and cannot remember a thing about it. I don't know whether you have had your endoscopy yet, but I was absolutely terrified like you and asked if I could have it under a general. I am very seriously considering refusing the procedure because I am so anxious about it, so any advice or experiences (these seem to be mixed from what I've read, but all involve some gagging/retching which utterly terrifies me) you can give me would be appreciated. As my blood test was borderline can I request another to confirm before putting myself through this? Why is it advisable over simply trying a gluten free diet to see if that alleviates symptoms? Since my doctor has told me that I have been reffered for the procedure I have found sleeping and eating difficult as I am so nervous. Even having the mouth guard put in to hold my mouth open at the dentists was unbearable and he had to remove it straight away.ĭoes anyone know if the procedure can be done under general? I'd feel a lot more comfortable about that. I am really really nervous about this, I am phobic of being sick and have a really strong gag reflex, and then cry and find breathing very hard as I panic if this is stimulated - my dentist has to refer me for anaesthetic anytime I need anything more than a check up because I find it too distressing. It has therefore been suggested I have a gastroscopy with a gut biopsy. In fact, experts aren’t quite sure whether spotted tabby cats developed from mackerel tabbies or whether they simply have different genes. Spotted tabbies have bright spots of varying size all over their sides which can be difficult to distinguish from the mackerel tabby pattern. Tabby cats are primarily known for their stripes, but they can also have spots. They have a random series of dark and light orange swirls, much like a bullseye. These cats have bold, swirling patterns on their backs that resembling the marbling you’d see in a cake. While the mackerel tabby may be the quintessential tiger cat, the classic tabby is the most common. Though they may look like tiger stripes, they actually branch out from a single stripe running down the cat’s spine which creates a pattern that resembles a fish skeleton, hence the name “mackerel.” 2. In an ideal example of the pattern, the stripes are evenly spaced with no broken lines. The mackerel tabby is the iconic “tiger cat” with narrow stripes running parallel down the length of its body. When you hear the phrase “orange tabby” this is probably the variety you picture. Now that you have a better idea of what physical characteristics define the orange tabby, let’s take a closer look at each of the five tabby patterns. Though each orange tabby is different, tabbies in general have specific characteristics that are easily identified. In other cats, the striping is much more subtle or appears only on the cat’s legs and tail. In some orange tabbies, the stripes may be bold and clearly visible running down the length of the cat’s back and body. While tabby cats come in an array of patterns, most have some degree of striping on their coats. The tabby pattern comes in five different varieties: The term tabby refers to the combination of stripes, spots, and swirls which cover the cat’s body.ĭepending on the breed of cat and its individual genetics, the tabby pattern can be localized to patches or certain body parts, or it could cover the entire body of the cat. What Makes Orange Tabby Cats So Special?Īll cats are beautiful, but orange tabby cats are known for their colorful coats and unique pattern. Click here to read our review of the Basepaws cat DNA test kit. Wish you could learn more about the genes that make your cat special? Cat DNA testing could be the answer. That being said, there are some interesting facts about orange tabbies you should know. How can you not love a ginger cat, especially one with tiger stripes?īecause the orange tabby is not a specific breed of cat, it’s difficult to make overarching generalizations about things like temperament and personality. Tabbies are known for their striped coats and, while they come in a wide variety of colors, the orange tabby is uniquely beautiful. While the term “tabby” doesn’t refer to a specific breed of cat, it does represent one of the most common coat patterns seen in the world of cats – both wild and domestic. The orange tabby cat is not a breed, but it is certainly one of the most iconic (and some would say cutest) cats out there. What do famous cats like Garfield, Morris, and Milo have in common? They’re all orange tabby cats. 8/4/2023 0 Comments Tower bridge museumFrom the late 13th century, the Tower was a major repository for official documents, and precious goods owned by the Crown. These incorporated such fundamental roles as the nation’s defence, its records, and its coinage. The continuous use of the Tower by successive monarchs fostered the development of several major State Institutions. The property has strong associations with State Institutions. The Tower of London is a rare survival of a continuously developing ensemble of royal buildings, evolving from the 11th to the 16th centuries, and as such, has great significance nationally and internationally. The survival of palace buildings at the Tower allows a rare glimpse into the life of a medieval monarch within their fortress walls. Palace buildings were added to the royal complex right up until the 16th century, although few now stand above ground. The additions of Henry III and Edward I, and particularly the highly innovative development of the palace within the fortress, made the Tower into one of the most innovative and influential castle sites in Europe in the 13th and early 14th centuries, and much of their work survives. The property is an outstanding example of late 11th century innovative Norman military architecture. The Tower has an iconic role as reflecting the last military conquest of England. The Tower represents more than any other structure the far-reaching significance of the mid-11th century Norman Conquest of England, for the impact it had on fostering closer ties with Europe, on English language and culture, and in creating one of the most powerful monarchies in Europe. The Tower of London was built as a demonstration and symbol of Norman power. The Tower literally ‘towered’ over its surroundings until the 19th century. It had the dual role of providing protection for the City through its defensive structure and the provision of a garrison, and of also controlling the citizens by the same means. Sited strategically at a bend in the River Thames, it has been a crucial demarcation point between the power of the developing City of London, and the power of the monarchy. As the gateway to the capital, the Tower was in effect the gateway to the new Norman kingdom. The Tower of London has Outstanding Universal Value for the following cultural qualities:įor both protection and control of the City of London, it has a landmark siting. It has been the setting for key historical events in European history, including the execution of three English queens. Entity Type 1 providers are individual providers who render health care (e.g., physicians, dentists, nurses). There are two categories of health care providers for NPI enumeration purposes. Where NPI should be used? : The NPI must be used in place of legacy provider identifiers, such as a Unique Provider Identification Number (UPIN), Online Survey Certification & Reporting (OSCAR) and National Supplier Clearinghouse (NSC) in HIPAA standard transactions. Covered health care providers and all health plans and health care clearinghouses must use the NPIs in the administrative and financial transactions adopted under HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). The NPI must be used in lieu of legacy provider identifiers in the HIPAA standards transactions. This means that the numbers do not carry other information about healthcare providers, such as the state in which they live or their medical specialty. The NPI is a 10-position, intelligence-free numeric identifier (10-digit number). What is a NPI Number? : The National Provider Identifier (NPI) is a unique identification number for covered health care providers.
